Is the headline on the Front page of today's Gold Coast Bulletin.  And I agree.  The Fashions on the Field judges are not impressed by the GC Girls and the outfits they wore to The Melbourne Cup Race Day at the Gold Coast Turf Club.    http://www.goldcoast.com.au/article/2012/11/07/441305_gold-coast-news.html.

Going to the races is just that. It is not a nightclub.  It is day wear and that doesn't mean short, short dresses and skirts.  Damien Woolnough said in his column in last weeks Weekend Australian Magazine: "If you think you could get away with wearing your race outfit to a nightclub, you are not dressed appropriately.  If you could wear it to a funeral you are closer to the mark..."  I agree Damien.

Well done to the judges for upholding the standards. Designer Jay Pask was apparently scathing in his comments and I commend him.  It's no wonder the GC girls get it all wrong when the 50 Best Dressed Competition has poorly and inappropriately dressed contestants treated like celebrities.  See previous blog: http://dressmegc.blogspot.com.au/2012/09/say-no-more.html

It's great someone has a voice and has made it loud and clear. Thank-you Jay Pask. Take a bow. Jay has a shop on Chevron Island: http://www.jaypask.com.au/

Chirn Park Shoppers will be please to know that a new shop has opened on the Konc side near Moss & Stone, and Ironing Plus. It called Miss Darcy and has some very groovy stuff - clothes, jewellery, bags and accessories.  I'm liking their  black silk tracksuit pants.

That little corner fronted by Konc is a great spot.  Konc has the best coffee, Moss & Stone has beautiful flowers, and gifts and they refill all my candles, and Ironing Plus is the biggest help ever.  I can't iron, so Ironing Plus and I are great friends.  Across the road is Bella Brazilian  - another "great friend'.

Kept me happy this morning. They have some pretty good specials at the moment. Some stock I have been keeping an eye on has been further reduced. I got a sequin dress, black tuxedo pants, sequin top and tracksuit style shorts all for $110.  Happy Days.  The tuxedo pants are fantastic with a seam down the front of the leg.

Got back on the horse this morning after Noosa, and ran my big heart out along the Broadwater with Ian my Trainer from Step Into Life. I love it! What I love most is the company - the girls I train with are good people.  Without sounding corny, it is probably when I am my happiest (that and drinking wine with them), but all jokes aside we train well together and we are from all walks of life and have a great respect for each other.  Thanks Girls (and Ian) - you get me moving and laughing.

GC fashion? Are you really surprised?

Inappropriate race wear is not just for the GC'ers. There were some wrong backless, strapless, crotch-hovering hemlines & lycra numbers on show in the self-proclaimed capital of style Melbourne on Derby Day. Just because it stuck to the black & white theme, did not make it stylish.

It's a shame isn't it? Even the celebs from o/s got it wrong! Maybe Dress Me GC is getting old? Lol! I'm hoping Oaks Day might help the cause....we'll see....
